IMPIs plant trees for the 2012 Super Bowl

The Green Committee and Community Outreach Committee had a wonderful turnout last month by volunteering their time and talent to Keep Indianapolis Beautiful Inc., and the 2012 Super Bowl Host Committee’s Near Eastside Legacy Project of planting 2,012 trees by 2012. On April 30th, approximately fifty volunteers, to which IMPI had ten dedicated participants, met at Litho Press Company on Massachusetts Avenue to help plant 58 trees. Everyone received a wealth of educational training in tree planting. It was a family affair as well, as IMPI members brought their children out to assist with the efforts.
“I never knew what really went into planting a tree. KIBI does a great job of educating us first before we dug in and get our hands dirty. It was a great time indeed, had so much fun, and even brought my family with me!” said Seven Brooksby, Sales Manager at University Place Conference Center & Hotel and a member of the Green Committee. Thank you to all you participated at this fun-filled event and hope to see you at the next Community Outreach service project venture.
